Agios Nikolaos

The ferry to Kefalonia leaves from this beautiful port on the north of the island.

It provides very good infrastructure, it is fit for big sailboats, it is strategically situated near the Blue Caves and the closest port to the Ionian Archipelago.

It offers water, electricity and there is a gas station right across the street. This is a great option if you intend to visit other islands.

Nobelos, one of the best restaurants on the island, is located next to the port and has the infrastructure of a small hotel. Depending on the sea conditions and the boat you choose, it is only about 30 minutes from Agios Nikolaos to Navagio.

ZAKYNTHOS – KEFALONIA

This crossing takes approximately one hour and a half depending on the sea conditions. The ferries dock at Pessada Port on the south of Kefalonia Island.

Agios Sostis

This harbour is around 2 meters (6 feet) deep and it is always busy with fishing and local boats.

It is located on the busy and hectic region of Laganas and it is convenient if you want to take a small boat to Marathonisi. A very interesting bridge connects the port to the pretty Cameo Islet.

Alikanas

This port has a “U” shape stone pier at the end of a sandy beach in Alikanas.

It is about 1 and a half meters (4 and a half feet) deep, therefore ideal for small boats. A great part of it is taken up by local fishing vessels.

You can take a good glimpse of the north of Zakynthos and neighboring Kefalonia from there.

Limni Keri

It is from this port that you can board boats to the nicest places in Zakynthos.

It is our favorite place on the south side of the island due to its beauty and strategic location. It takes 5 minutes to sail to Marathonisi and 15 minutes to reach Keri Caves from there. It is a special corner with placid and crystalline waters, shielded from the wind and with a marvelous view of the island shaped like a turtle.

Limni Keri’s stone pier shelters small boats, but there is a docking area 2 to 4 meters (6 to 12 feet) deep, well protected from the N-NW winds, adjacent to it.

There are nice restaurants, bars, cafes and a convenient store that carries everything you could think of. It is also near nice villas that we recommend.

Porto Roxa

This is a small and charming bay on the west coast.

The water depth is not a problem here (8 meters – 24 feet) but the area for maneuvering is very limited.

Typical Greek taverns and sunbeds overlooking the Ionian Sea are great option if you appreciate rustic environments.

Zakynthos

Zakynthos is the soul, the capital and the main port of the island.

That is where it all happens. Almost a fourth of the 40,000 inhabitants of Zante live there.

The majestic mountains to one side and the marvelous sea to the other, frame boats, anglers, statues, taverns and cafes with magic.

You must visit the marvelous Agios Dionysius Cathedral and the pleasant Solomos Squar

There is no doubt this port offers the best infrastructure on the island.

You find gasoline, water and electricity for your boat there. The port can take tens of vessels, including private and large size boats. It is right in town and it offers everything the biggest urban center in Zante can provide. Ferries to Killini and to Italy depart and arrive from there.
