Avant Garde

This is one of the most fashionable places on the island.

It is situated at the corner of Zakynthos’ main square, the “in” place where it all happens! It is and excellent cafe serving good food during the day and a vibrant nightclub after dark. A DJ cheers the party that extends throughout the night. This is a place to see and to be seen, where local residents and visitors mingle cheerfully.

Agalas Coast

The southwestern coast of Zakynthos near Agalas village is well known for its incredible grottos.

There are many of them, in all sizes, forming arches, colorful rock walls, hidden beaches and a marvelous light extravaganza on the water. Truly a picture perfect postcard of Zante.

Blue Caves

They are very popular with tourists.

The famous Blue Caves are a series of grottos on the extreme north of the island near Agios Nikolaos Port. The morning sun makes them glow with incredible colors.

ANAFONITRIA COAST

This is another beautiful coastal area situated between Navagio Beach and Vromi Port.

Quiet beaches, many grottos and gorgeous transparent blue waters to enjoy!

KAMPI COAST

Kampi Coast, as the rest of Zakynthos western shore, is magnificent.

It is really worth it to spend a day sailing around this tranquil area exploring grottos and discovering quiet beaches.

Shiza Oil Beach, located there, is our favorite.

KERI CAVES

This very special place on the extreme south of the island is packed with awesome beaches, grottos and natural arches.

You can rent a small boat with or without a pilot on Limni Keri Port to get there. Different colors and shapes make each grotto a new adventure. Some are so small, that swimming is the only way to see them. Spend the day enjoying this place. It is worth every minute.

Marathonisi

This is one of nature greatest coincidences: you find this island shaped like a turtle right in the Careta-Careta (loggerhead) turtles sanctuary.

The 2 grottos and a sandy beach under a majestic cliff are simply marvelous.

Depending on the time of the year, you can spot nests in the protected area and, if you get lucky, you may see turtles swimming in the clear waters (If you enjoy laying in the sun we recommend the sandy beach, where you will not be threatened by falling rocks.

This fascinating island can be easily reached by boat or kayak from Limni Keri, Agios Sostis or Marathias. Fun boat bars sell snacks and drinks in Marathonisi.

Mizithres

We recommend you go visit this beautiful place when you go to Keri Caves.

If you are piloting the boat yourself this should be as far as you go.

Mizithres are 2 gorgeous islets that, because of their shape, the local people named after the island typical cheese.

The view is astonishing from any and every angle. It is dazzling beauty from the sea or from the lighthouse. If you get lucky, you will see the Keri Lighthouse Tavern flag hoisted (the best view of Mizithres).

NAVAGIO BEACH

This is nature’s work of art; indeed, the most beautiful beach in the world!

Entering Navagio Bay is breathtaking. The sculpted cliffs, the unique color of the water and the vegetation create an unbelievable scene. There is a more private beach on one side (we do not recommend you stay there because of falling rocks), a grotto with a beautiful view on the other and the main beach in the back.

Boats from all corners of the island, from Zakynthos Port located on the opposite coast to Vromi Port nearby, travel to this touristy spot where the famous shipwreck happened in 1980. The most practical way to get there is by leaving from Agios Nikolaos (approximately 30 minutes), but if you like sailing leave from Limni Keri and spend a full day cruising this beautiful area (be aware, you may run into choppy seas).

Special tip: get there before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. The sun set from the beach is magnificent and that is when the place is not so crowded, which makes a huge difference.

Skiza Oil Beach

The best surprise of Zakynthos is not included in the official itineraries.

The water at this unspoiled beach is the most translucent and preserved on the island and it changes colors depending on the time of the year. This stunning place deserves a long stop. Moor your boat and enjoy all nature has to offer. The beach is truly private and the grotto on the left side of the bay makes this spot very romantic. This paradise on the Kampi Coast is only accessible by boat.
